Welcome to the Global Flavor Atlas!
Travel the world without leaving your kitchen.
What if you could experience the essence of a place through the flavors that define it?
Global Flavor Atlas is a growing library designed to help you explore cuisines from around the world with confidence, curiosity, and creativity. It isn't a cookbook full of rigid recipes, and it isn't a textbook. Think of it as a kitchen companion- part flavor guide, part creativity spark- that helps you understand why cuisines taste the way they do, so you can create your own globally inspired meals with confidence.
Inside, you'll discover ingredient guides, flavor profiles, cooking methods, and meal-building ideas inspired by cultures around the world. Rather than memorizing recipes, you'll begin recognizing the patterns that give each cuisine its unique character. The goal isn't perfection or authenticity in every dish- it's learning, exploring, and finding inspiration for your own kitchen.
Why I Created This
Food has always been more than just fuel to me. It's creativity, comfort, connection, and one of the most enjoyable ways to learn about the world.
Although my own kitchen is vegan, my fascination has always extended far beyond nutrition alone. I've always been captivated by what makes each cuisine unique- how geography, climate, history, and culture shape the ingredients people use and the flavors they love. I wanted to understand why Moroccan food feels different from Greek food, why certain spices appear together across continents, and how a handful of familiar ingredients can create completely different experiences depending on how they're combined.
I also know that not everyone geeks out over food the way I do.
For many people, the hardest part of eating well isn't motivation- it's simply knowing what to cook. Staring into the refrigerator wondering what goes together, feeling like healthy meals are repetitive, or relying on the same handful of recipes can make cooking feel overwhelming.
My hope is that this library helps change that.
Rather than telling you exactly what to cook, I want to help you understand how flavors work together, build confidence in the kitchen, and discover new ways to enjoy more plants through cuisines from around the world. Whether you're already an experienced home cook or just beginning your journey, I hope these resources leave you feeling inspired to experiment, adapt, and make every meal your own!
A Note on Curiosity & Respect
The cuisines represented here are incredibly rich, diverse, and deeply rooted in history, family traditions, and regional differences. No single page could ever fully capture the complexity of an entire culture's food.
This project isn't intended to define what is or isn't "authentic." Instead, it's meant to serve as a respectful starting point for learning about the ingredients, flavors, and cooking traditions that commonly shape different cuisines. My hope is that it encourages curiosity, appreciation, and a desire to continue exploring beyond these pages.
Whenever possible, I encourage you to learn directly from cooks, authors, and creators who share their own culinary traditions and lived experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need specialty ingredients?
Not at all. Most pages focus on ingredients that are widely available, while also introducing traditional ingredients you may enjoy exploring if you choose. You can keep things simple or get adventurous- it's completely up to you.
What if I'm not a confident cook?
You're in exactly the right place. This library is designed to make cooking feel more approachable by breaking cuisines into understandable building blocks rather than expecting you to memorize recipes.
Do I need to be vegan or plant-based?
Not at all. My own kitchen is vegan because it reflects my personal values, and all of the examples throughout this library are plant-based. However, the frameworks, flavor profiles, and cooking concepts are designed to be useful for anyone who wants to cook more creatively, enjoy more plants, and build confidence in the kitchen- regardless of where they're starting. Feel free to add animal products as you wish!
